Biography

Mark is the Strategic Design Adviser for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) for the Department for Education (DfE) within the multidisciplinary Design Team, which is part of Technical Standards, Capital Directorate.

Mark joined the DfE in early 2019 after over 20 years in private sector architecture and consultancy. He is on the RIBA register of Client Advisers. Before joining the Civil Service, Mark was lead consultant for SEND in the multi-disciplinary Mace Public Sector UK Consultancy Team, which he joined in 2010. Prior to this he worked for leading architecture firms such as RMJM, RHWL (Aedas) and Architects Co-Partnership (ACP).

Mark has an open and collaborative approach, a key to achieving his proven track record of positively supporting SEND provision across education settings, building programmes and the development of government policies.
